ThriftFeeds is basically just a service which combines a bunch of different websites
with a focus on saving money. ThriftFeeds also provides ways to alert you when one of these
different sites finds a deal for something you need. If you sign up, you'll get email or RSS notifications of deals for products you like.
You will be able to build RSS and Email based alerts for deals that you are looking for. You're also able to customize the basic view of the site, by picking which sites that you see deals from. Furthermore, eventually, you'll be able to share your RSS and Email searches with other users.
Well, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is basically a news feed of information. For a better and more in-depth explanation, you can visit this link. RSS Readers are applications that let you view the contents of these feeds. Our personal favorite is Google Reader.
Yes! Personal RSS feeds are publicly accessible. You can send the URL for your feed to anyone and share the deals you've found. Copy the URL directly from the RSS link in the upper right corner, or use the following:
http://thriftfeeds.com/userRSS.php?username=YOUR_USERNAME
Replace YOUR_USERNAME with your information.
On our site? Nothing. But you might want to check to see if it's already been reported on the site that we found the deal through. We're still in the process of debating whether or not, and how we would going about handling problematic deals.
Drop us an email with a link to your site and we'll check it out and get back to you as soon as possible.
Glad you asked, we found it through IconArchive.com. The actual artist Paul Davey is amazing, check out his work at http://mattahan.deviantart.com/
